𝄞 Memory 18: Trivial Negative
"I'm sorry for making you dirty your hands with blood yesterday"
Earned: Day 144, just after noon from Automaton's Sandcastle Game.
Taken: Day 147 Afternoon
Shareable: Yes; 3/4 uses. (Self.)
Form: A metallic gear.
Content note: mild nudity and not-so-mild gut punching with blood.
The Memory Itself:
From Wings of an Angel scanlations (the scans were...not the best to begin with but imgur went ahead and made them worse. MY APOLOGIES!):

Cutting out the part where Ion gets bit by Arietta since I listed that as a separate memory for...reasons I will remember either. Whether Van sees the actual killing or the aftereffects it doesn't really matter since he'd feel the same either way.
Feelings-wise, this memory contains some actual humility though, in great contrast to every memory thus far. This is highly uncommon.
What Van learns:
What this means:
I've been hoping for an Original Ion memory since Van got that Sync memory which was...the first one he earned. And O!Ion is actually pretty significant CR for Van, despite the limited interaction we get to see. So I went ahead and requested this one as this seemed like the best introduction to Original Ion! And boy does this one have a great deal of BRAND NEW INFORMATION for Van! \:D/
First off, this recontextualizes quite a bit! Killing those replicas in that Sync memory? ...A little less terrible now, after seeing what happens when the Fon Master does things himself. Still terrible but... comparatively less so. Presumably, it's better that he handles executions...
...On a more trivial matter, this also brings up some "???" feelings in regards to the fact that his boss is ten yet he definitely remembers all the problems he had climbing the ranks at the young age of 20-something. That was why he grew the damn beard! What even???
Van's already been amicable toward violent-types in Aather and has been considering Mau 'Sapphire's leader' in Aather, so this will just...explain his tendencies to socialize with those who enjoy killing a bit too much and to accept orders from prepubescent children. This will probably also increase those tendencies so. There's that.
...And this is trivial negative for Van Grants. This is his awesome life. \:D/

What Van learns:
♪ This is Sync's original -- the Fon Master Ion. He has a tendency to take matters into his own hands.
♪ His guardian was a girl named Arietta. She was raised by monsters and spoke their language; Fon Master Ion was the one who taught her the human language.
♪ There is a sense of coming misfortunate that is meant to be kept secret. Possibly related to the fact that they seem to be running out of time, and the fact that he is ill...
♪ This was the boy that made him Commandant. There had a deal of some kind.
♪ ...And this is his boss. Very well.
♪ Ah yes, and Emperor Carl V is dead. This is a trivial matter though and not worth much thought.
