and a great kisser... Essentially Spitfire is someone that is really easy and relaxing to spend time with. Though admittedly, he wasn't a person Selenia considered all that significant to him until our absolute most recent thread! Knowing that Spitfire is also dead has made him all the more intriguing for Selenia, so I'm expecting some changes in how Selenia approaches him after this. WE WILL SEE WHAT HAPPENS.Saya really absolutely loves and adores Pitch. She's sad that Mitsuki's gone but Pitch has been genuinely nice and friendly with her from day one so she tries not to be too sad about the fact. He also pings her 'caretaker' side a bit so she's been trying really hard to be nice and make sure he's taken care of, especially in the two trauma games they've participated in. Which has interestingly resulted in her handling the situation more calmly, since Pitch took her spot as 'team baby' and she felt the need to step up and protect him. So an impressive amount of personal growth has happened with her just by his sheer presence on the team; which is really fascinating cause she very easily could've gone the route of being jealous of losing her 'team baby' spot but Pitch is just so moe it doesn't even register to her that she could be jealous. :'D
Right now Pitch is up there with Swift and Eve in terms of who her favorite Jasper teammate is. He's just very sweet and genuinely makes her happy and was willing to kiss her which is a big thing after getting her body back and knowing she was 'gross' to some people. Even though that specific game ended badly for them, the fact that he did that made her feel really comfortable and loved and now she feels an even greater need to make sure he's happy.
In short: Jasper babies are so cute. ;3; ♥

Saya has not threaded with Jaina since she got her real body back but I think it's worth noting that Jaina made such a positive impression on Saya on her first few days in Aather that she made a very serious push to protect Iolite in one trauma game and will probably do so again (especially since Spitfire also turned out to be a nice person).

Though interestingly enough, it was one of the few hearts where he simply choose to meander and talk to NPCs. Which was partly because I threw him in Ace's heart on a whim as he had no CR options that round, though also partly because all the NPCs he met were Very Stern about what was and wasn't acceptable behavior. He definitely got the sense that this was Not A Heart To Fuck With, so he primarily contented himself with chatting with the NPCs and trying to cause a little change as possible -- and he's taken this tactic into unofficial heart games as well. If an NPC says something, he'll listen which is...a rather interesting thing for a manipulative type villain to take away from it. '-'a
...Though a lot of that was also because he became really fond of Ace's representation of Alice. She was soft-spoken and yet spoke passionately about what she felt was the right thing to do...and reminded him of his sister actually! ...A lot! Chances are, if she ever ends up in Aather, he'll probably beeline straight for her. Alice made quite an impact on him, as you can tell... >->;
SO! Has Ace met Hook yet? If so how did that go, and if not are you hoping for it or avoiding it?

Ace hasn't met Hook in an out-of-game context yet! I'd like to see what happens if I threw Ace at Hook outside of a game but Hook is also a Persona Ace would go out of his way to avoid, so right now it's pretty much just wait-and-see for me. /)'-'(\

Saya is extremely cute and Jaina wants to protect her from things! She doesn't realize the cutie is a cthulhu thingy. XD

However, I think it's come up in these recent threads we've had so I figure I can come back to it now! One reason Selenia got angry with Mau's Ruby Incident-related upset was partly a "why are you even angry about this? YOU'RE NOT MY MOM" reaction. He really saw no reason for Mau to be upset about it if it wasn't an attempt to scold him and he didn't want to let Mau walk away without doing something to assert his own authority. And then it just continued with that line of thinking with EXCESSIVE STUBBORN REFUSAL TO BE MOM'D WHICH MEANS I CAN'T ADMIT TO BEING WRONG ABOUT ANYTHING EVER until Selenia gave in and accepted
basic logicMau's 'authority' at the end.And it's also showing up in the current thread we have going on about Mother's game and Selenia's heavy projections onto Jabberwock. He really did want to avoid telling Mau about getting strangled in the game, but he ended up telling him for fear of getting 'caught' hiding things like that again, and he took whatever chance he could to downplay it without lying, mostly by playing it off as a cruel joke (...and it kind of was). But a lot of that was done to try and avoid perceived discipline later. He also mentioned Jabberwock, less to learn Mau's side of it (he pretty much figured anything Mau would say would not be in line with his own worldview) and more because he was worried about consequences if it got out that he was talking to Jabberwock. By telling Mau first, he avoided possible problems by deferring to Mau's authority, so if his corpse shows up he followed the letter of the law and therefore Mau can't get angry about him getting himself killed! FLAWLESS. (Though then his motive shifted part way through to defend
his own worldviewJabberwock because...Selenia can't accept someone disagreeing with him, enough so that he would go and talk to one of the most dangerous Personae around almost solely because it validates him.)It's...kind of terrible how Selenia doesn't seem to understand how equal relationships work without antagonism. (Meaning, if there's a perceived threat to his place in the hierarchy by someone making a move to get 'above' him, the response is to antagonize to maintain 'equal standing'.) He is still incapable of viewing criticism from a friend as anything but some sort of power-game, since he only ever gave criticism to those he outranked or only received it from the one person who outranked him, and he never dealt with disagreement from an actual friend in canon...mostly because he didn't actually have any friendships that didn't already have an unequal power dynamic of some sort built in.
So, yes, the talk had an impression. However, what Selenia took away from is that titles of authority are to be avoided, but the hierarchy he has in his mind is still clearly there. It'll take some rooting out.

Honestly, the closest thing he has to an equal relationship in Sapphire right now is his friendship with Apple, and he mostly operates that one as a tradeoff in who is 'in charge' at a given moment. He'll defer to her authority in certain situations and he'll take charge in others. She scolds him for being stupid with his feelings, which he considers an acceptable trade-off for him taking the cane and beating people in trauma games. Which I guess is how an equal relationship works with friends using their strengths to help out their friends and also calling each other out when they're dumb...except Selenia still thinks there's authority attached to those strengths and can't really separate the two. IT'S NOT AN EQUAL FRIENDSHIP, IT'S FLUCTUATING AUTHORITY.
SO APPLE IS BOSS...In situations involving medicine and injuries and sometimes feelings. Then he usually assumes he by default outranks her due to team seniority and actual age. Thus is the way Selenia rolls. But I think Apple has the potential ability to kick that system out his head just by continuing to be Apple so the answer is to thread forever.
Also, Saya and Estelle both love Apple lots. Saya thinks she's the best doctor in Aather (cause she's nice, therefore she has to be good at doctoring) and Estelle needed the picture pick-me-up when she ran into Apple last. ♥
