The Memory Itself
This bit of canon happened offscreen. However, given Van's relationship toAsch the original Luke at this time, I imagine that the kidnapping itself happened by Van lying to him about something going on so he would follow him. Possibly a danger of some kind, and that they would need to leave the manor together...in the dead of night.
And sinceAsch Luke has no reason to distrust Van at this point (he still very much admires and trust him) he willingly goes with him to Coral Castle, the Fabre's abandon estate home.
...And that's how Van pridefully kidnapped a ten year for his nefarious purposes.
